Defending a Ghost

The story follows me on a bus ride from Davenport, Iowa to Kansas City, Kansas while the whole way I reflect on my days growing up in Ohio. I explore memories from my family growing up, to hanging out with friends, to the painful memories of my father dying and my best friend perishing in a car crash. The story takes you through my process of grieving and the twists and turns my mother and I go through as we both try to figure out how to live without a husband/father. Defending a Ghost takes an honest look at my emotions and my attempt to understand them as I piece my life back together with the help of a very Christian mother, a sister, a brother, and a teacher. At the end of the bus ride I have one last thing to do to keep a promise to my father, and maybe finally bury him in my own way.
